1. Introduction

Bidet Beacon SG (“we”, “our”, or “the Service”) is a free web application that helps users locate bidet-equipped toilets in Singapore. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use our Service and how it is used.

2. Information We Collect

We are committed to collecting the minimum amount of data necessary. Bidet Beacon SG does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information.

• Geolocation data. If you grant permission, your device’s location is used solely to show nearby bidet locations and calculate distances. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
• Favorites. When you save a location as a favorite, this preference is stored in your browser’s localStorage. It never leaves your device.
• Theme preference. Your light/dark mode choice is stored in localStorage on your device.

3. Cookies & Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your browsing activity.

4. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third-party services:

• OneMap (Singapore Land Authority). Map tiles and geocoding are provided by OneMap. Your interaction with the map may be subject to the OneMap Terms of Use.
• Google AdSense. Used for displaying advertisements, as described in section 3.

5. Data Source

Bidet location data is community-sourced from publicly available information and is stored as a static dataset. No user-submitted data is collected through the Service.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your information to third parties. Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to share. The only third-party data processing occurs through Google AdSense cookies as described above.

7. Data Retention

All user preferences (favorites, theme) are stored locally in your browser. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser’s localStorage or using the “Clear all favorites” option in the app’s Settings tab.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
