What Is Bidet Beacon SG?

Bidet Beacon SG is a free, community-powered tool that helps you find bidet-equipped toilets across Singapore. Whether you are a local resident, a tourist, or simply someone who prefers the comfort and hygiene of a bidet, our interactive map puts every known bidet toilet at your fingertips. No account required, no app store download needed — just open it in your browser and start searching.

We currently track 584 bidet-equipped locations across shopping malls, hotels, offices, and public restrooms island-wide, and the list keeps growing as the community contributes new finds.

The Problem

Bidets are common across much of Asia, the Middle East, and parts of Europe, yet finding one when you actually need it can be surprisingly difficult. Singapore has thousands of public restrooms, but only a fraction are equipped with bidet sprays or bidet seats. For travellers arriving from countries where bidets are the norm, or for residents who simply prefer them, the lack of a reliable directory means an uncomfortable guessing game every time nature calls.

Existing toilet-finder apps focus on availability and accessibility, but none specifically address bidet availability. Bidet Beacon SG fills that gap with a single-purpose tool designed to answer one question: “Where is the nearest bidet toilet?”

How It Works

Bidet Beacon SG is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — it behaves like a native app while running entirely in your browser.

• Interactive map. Browse all 584 locations on a full-screen map powered by OneMap tiles. Tap any marker to see the location name, type (male toilet, female toilet, or hotel), and distance from you.
• GPS-powered search. Grant location permission and the app instantly sorts locations by distance, showing you the nearest bidet toilets first. Your location data stays on your device and is never sent to any server.
• Offline support. Once loaded, the app caches all location data and map assets via a service worker. You can search for bidet toilets even without an internet connection — perfect for underground MRT stations or areas with poor signal.
• Favorites. Save the locations you visit often for quick access. Favorites are stored locally in your browser.
• Installable. Add Bidet Beacon SG to your home screen on iOS or Android for an app-like experience with no app store required.

Data Source

Our location data is community-sourced, originating from the incredible work of @toiletswithbidetsg on Instagram — a grassroots initiative dedicated to documenting every bidet-equipped restroom in Singapore.

The raw data is maintained in a public Google Sheet and periodically synced into Bidet Beacon SG. During the sync process, each address is geocoded using the OneMap API (provided by the Singapore Land Authority) to obtain precise latitude and longitude coordinates for map placement.

If you know of a bidet toilet that is not yet listed, the best way to contribute is to share it with @toiletswithbidetsg on Instagram, and it will eventually make its way into our database.

Technology

Bidet Beacon SG is built with modern web technologies:

• Next.js 15 — React framework providing server-side rendering for fast initial loads and SEO.
• Leaflet — lightweight, open-source mapping library for the interactive map.
• OneMap tiles — official Singapore map tiles from the Singapore Land Authority.
• Tailwind CSS — utility-first CSS framework for responsive, consistent styling.
• Service Workers & Workbox — enabling offline access, background caching, and PWA capabilities.

The project is open source. We believe tools that serve the community should be transparent and open to contribution.

Our Mission

We believe everyone deserves access to comfortable, hygienic restroom facilities. Bidets are better for personal hygiene, more environmentally friendly (reducing toilet paper waste), and essential for many people due to cultural preference or medical need.

Our mission is simple: make Singapore more bidet-accessible. By mapping every bidet-equipped restroom on the island, we hope to make life a little easier for the millions of residents, workers, and visitors who prefer or need a bidet — and perhaps encourage more establishments to install them.
